Murray St. vs. Colorado St. Betting Lines

These are two teams that a lot of people have no clue about, and that’s why I wanted to cover this game. In this one, #6 Murray State has a tough 2nd round matchup against #11 Colorado State. The #11 seeds have always been scary in the big tourney and this is a game that you have to watch.

Murray State Racers vs. Colorado State Rams Prediction

Murray State (30-1) had an incredible record this season, but Colorado State (20-11) can definitely compete in this game. Most of the betting public is hammering the Racers point spread and it’s been climbing since it was released. This could be a big upset in the making and it would make the bookies extremely happy.

If you don’t watch much college hoops you probably don’t know who the Racers are. They finished with only 1 loss, but their SOS Rank was only 158, which has me questioning the team’s experience. The Racers had victories this season over the Memphis Tigers and Saint Mary’s Gaels, which were the only two games they played against ranked opponents.

Murray State is for real, but that SOS is scary if you’re backing them. The CSU Rams have played the 9th toughest schedule this season, which means they’re definitely ready for the big tournament. CSU lost to San Diego State this past week in the MWC conference tournament finals, but the team is comparable to the Racers.

The CSU Rams average 71 PPG, 31.3 RPG and 12.3 APG while the Racers average 74.2 PPG, 33.3 RPG and 13 APG. The Racers have slightly better offensive numbers and are a better defensive team, but they also played a weaker schedule. This game is up in the air and it will be settled by Isaiah Canaan who averages 19.2 PPG and 3.7 APG for the Murray State Racers.

Canaan is the best player on both teams and will have to take control of this game for his Racers to win. I don’t see value betting on the Racers money line at -215, but if you like the CSU Rams, you get them on the money line at +185 at BetOnline.

I’m betting on the Murray State point spread of by -5 (-110) odds at BetOnline, but I expect Colorado to hang in there for at least three quarters.

The Colorado St. vs. Murray St. over/under is currently 136 (-110) on either side at BetOnline. I think this one will hit 140, so I’m betting the over.
