This week 14 game between the New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys is a matchup of the top two teams in the NFC East. The Cowboys are on top of the division, but the Giants are trailing by just one game.

The NY Giants have been on a major tailspin of late, losing their last four games. With that said, three of those four losses came courtesy of the 49ers, Saints, and Packers, who have a combined record of 31-5. They put up a good fight in week 13 against the Packers, losing 38-35 in the final seconds of the game.

The Cowboys stunk it up in week 13, losing 19-13 in overtime against the Cardinals behind some bad coaching and time management in the final minutes. Dallas head coach Jason Garrett pulled a Mike Shanahan when he decided to ice a field goal kicker. It worked, because the kicker made the first field goal (the one that didn’t count), and missed the real one. The only problem was, it was his own kicker.

New York Giants vs. Dallas Cowboys Point Spread

The Giants vs. Cowboys point spread has been bouncing all over the place this week. At the time of this writing, the Cowboys point spread is -4.5 (-110) at BetOnline, and -3 (-150) at Bodog.

The Giants point spread is +4.5 (-110) at BetOnline, and +3 (+130) at Bodog. Of course, this one comes down to points, and where you think the best value is.

This is a tough game to predict because both of these teams have the ability to impress or disappoint. Which Giants team is going to show up? Is it the team that took Green Bay to the final seconds in week 13, or the team that got destroyed by the Saints in week 12? Which Cowboys team will show up? The team who lost in OT against the Cardinals in week 13, or the team who crushed the Bills 44-7 in week 10? This game could easily come down to whoever wins the give/take battle. One fumble or INT could be the difference, and with similar numbers this season, this is impossible to predict.

Although the Cowboys haven’t played very well since that week 10 game, I’m picking the Cowboys at home to win a close game of 1-3 points. So, I’m taking the Giants and the points, but not +3 (+130) at Bodog. Instead, I’ll be taking +4.5 (-110) at BetOnline to get the extra 1.5 points. In this case I don’t mind paying the extra juice because the 1.5 points are more valuable to me.

Cowboys vs. Giants Money Line

At the time of this writing (Saturday at 5:30pm ET), the best Giants money line is +200 at BetOnline.com. The best Cowboys money line is -220 at Bodog.com.

Although I’m picking the Dallas Cowboys to win a close game, I don’t like them at -220 on the money line. The Cowboys have been less than impressive in the last three weeks, and they’re too unpredictable at those odds. The NY Giants are very capable of winning this game, and +200 on them looks like a much better value to me.

Because I see value at +200, I’ll make a small money line bet on the Giants at BetOnline.

NY Giants vs. Cowboys Over/Under Betting Odds

Currently, the Giants vs. Cowboys over/under is 50.5 (-110) on either side at BetOnline and Bodog. Both teams are scoring just under 24 ppg this season. Dallas is giving up 20.3 ppg, and the Giants are giving up 26.3. The Cowboys have a much more solid all-around defense, but they’re up against a prolific passing offense.

With the over/under at 50.5, everything points to the under. Unless one defense falls apart, I think we’ll see this one in the 23-21 to 27-24 range, giving us a lot more winning under scores than overs.
