A lot of NFL ‘experts’ have already handed the 2011 – 2012 Super Bowl to the Green Bay Packers, but we know it’s not that easy. While they’ve been the dominant team in the NFL so far this year, there’s a reason they play 16 regular season games.

Am I saying I expect the Chargers to win this game? Hell no. However, the Chargers can give the Packers a good game if Philip Rivers can get the offense going and they don’t turn the ball over. Obviously the Chargers defense will need to have a big day as well.

Below are the Packers vs. Chargers betting lines for this week 9, Sunday matchup.

Latest Packers at Chargers Betting Lines: Week 9, 2011

Packers vs. Chargers

Green Bay Packers vs. San Diego Chargers Analysis & Prediction

Aaron Rodgers has had an unbelievable season, with a ridiculous passer rating of 125.7. He’s thrown 20 touchdowns with only 3 picks, and completing a league-high 71.5% of his passes.

The Packers weakness is their passing defense. They’ve given up an average of 288.9 yds/game, good for 2nd-worst in the NFL. This is where Philip Rivers and the Chargers have a shot. If they can find success passing the ball, they could make a game out of it. If not, they could get blown out. Green Bay has an excellent rushing defense, and I expect the Chargers to go with the obvious choice in this game.

Green Bay doesn’t have a great running game, but if they can find 3.3+ yards/carry, that should be effective enough to create a wide-open passing game. If they can do that, the Chargers defense will be on their heels all day long.

I’m expecting a win for the Green Bay Packers, with a score in the range of 27-17 up to 34-24. I’m predicting the Packers to win by 6+, and more likely 7-10.

Green Bay Packers vs. San Diego Chargers Point Spread

I’ve already bet on the Green Bay Packers at -6 (Even) at BetOnline.com. I didn’t want to wait on this bet and worry about losing 1/2 point, and at +100, I’m all over this one. If you also like the Packers at -6 (Even), head over to BetOnline right now – before the lines move in the wrong direction.

If you’re taking the Chargers at home to cover the spread, you can get them at +6 (-120) at BetOnline. Bodog hasn’t posted their lines on this game yet, but I would be waiting anyhow. It’s possible the Chargers will get another 1/2 – 1 point before game time begins.

Packers vs. Chargers Money Line

At the time of this writing, the Packers are listed at -250 on the money line at BetOnline. The Chargers are currently at +210. Bodog doesn’t have their money lines posted yet.

I’m picking the Packers to win by 6+, but the Chargers are 3-0 at home this year. I can see scenarios with the Chargers taking this game, and +210 doesn’t look too bad to me. However, we might see them closer to +230 or +240 by game time, so I’d wait before placing this bet.

Packers vs. Chargers Total (Over/Under) Betting Odds

The Packers vs. Chargers over/under is currently 50.5 (-110) on either side. I’m predicting a final score in the 27-17 (44) to 34-24 (58) range. Although the over/under is high, I think there’s a better chance of this game going over that total. This one could get into a shootout, especially for the Packers. If the Chargers can have mild success in the passing game, they should be able to do their part. So, I’m taking the over of 50.5 (-110) at BetOnline.

Bet on Green Bay Packers vs. San Diego Chargers

If you’re looking to bet on this Packers vs. Chargers week 9 matchup, BetOnline is currently the best US-friendly sportsbook with posted odds. As usual, Bodog is slow to get a lot of their lines up. For those who want to bet on the Packers, we like the -6 (Even) point spread available right now. For those who want to bet on the Chargers, we’d suggest you wait anyway.
