NHL Hockey Night in Canada Best Bets

I’d like to introduce a new series here at the Sports Betting Lines called “Hockey Night in Canada Best Bets”. Every week for the rest of the season we’re going to take a look at the best bets for NHL hockey betting every Saturday. There are always plenty of hockey games every Saturday and it’s easily the most exciting day for people that bet strictly on hockey. This week we’re going to take a look at 3 games that I feel should definitely win for us.

Ottawa Senators vs. Montreal Canadiens

This is an early divisional match-up that could become very important at the end of the season, so I expect this to be a very hard fought battle. Through the first 2 games of the season, the Montreal Canadiens are 1-1 while the Senators are 0-2.

Before this game, Montreal plays two games this week (Wednesday and Friday), while the Senators only play one game on Thursday. Ottawa is going to be coming into the game well rested, but I think the Canadiens should win the game in a 3-2 or 4-3 fashion. Ottawa has been having trouble between the pipes and if their struggles continue they’re going to be in trouble come Saturday.

Bet on the Canadiens to Win

Edmonton Oilers vs. Calgary Flames

Edmonton and Calgary is another divisional match-up taking place this Saturday and it’s between two bitter rivals. The Oilers have been doing great so far this season, as they’ve opened up the season with a 2-0 record. The young players have been contributing on offense and it should be interesting to see if they can keep things up for the entire season. Calgary is still the better team I feel and at home should be able to take care of the Oilers. I’ll be taking the Flames to win a close one unless something changes throughout the week.

Pittsburgh Penguins vs. Philadelphia Flyers

The final game that we’re betting on this Saturday is another divisional match-up between two rivals who hate each other. The game is in Philly, which means the fans will be rowdy and make for an exciting game to watch on TV. I’ll be taking the home team again in this match-up, as I feel the Flyers will play the Penguins tough. Philadelphia is 2-0-1 thus far while the Penguins are 1-2, but both teams have games in between their game Saturday night. Both teams have struggled a bit with putting the puck into the net, but they’ve done great at keeping the puck out of the net, which is always more important.

There are plenty of NHL games this Saturday to wager on, but I feel these three are the best bets from what I’ve seen at this point in the season. If anything changes or I have any additions I’ll add them to the bottom of the article, so make sure you check back here Saturday morning to find out if I’ve made any changes or additions. I’ll try keeping my record from week to week to see if this new series can prove to be profitable over the course of the season.
